Lost City Maraş (Varosha) Scenic Tour

Duration: Half day (09:00 - 14:00) Theme: History & Discovery Difficulty: Easy Departure: Pickup from hotel/accommodation

Tour Description

A place unlike any other in the world: Closed Maraş (Varosha). Abandoned overnight after the events of 1974, this area has been frozen in time ever since — half-finished hotels, old shop windows visible through glass, empty streets. This tour offers one of the world's most fascinating "ghost town" experiences, combined with the texture of the historic walled city of Famagusta.

This Varosha tour is specially designed for curious travellers, photographers, those interested in historical/political topics, and visitors seeking an unconventional experience.

Program Schedule

09:00 – Your guide and air-conditioned vehicle will pick you up from your accommodation.

11:30 – 12:30 | Varosha (Kapalı Maraş) Observation Tour The tour takes place in the limited-access part of the region, either by vehicle or on foot; you can closely observe the half-finished hotels from 1974, old car showrooms, and abandoned buildings.
